Thank you for your interest in BHNC, a nonprofit-behavioral health agency. Our mission is dedicated to bridging an integrated approach to mental health cares services. Our vision is to gain a national and international reputation as a promoter of evidence-based practices.
Our Founder and Chief Executive Officer began the journey as an Advocate, circa 1977, when a sibling was diagnosis with paranoid schizophrenia. Since then she has labored tirelessly on behalf of vulnerable populations and those afflicted from mental illness.
Currently pursuing a Doctorate of Public Health, her career and volunteer experience spans over thirty-years in the healthcare industry to include the following, but not limited to: local community advocacy, Broker Executive for CareFirst BlueCross and BlueShield of MD, DC, and PA; Advocate for the District of Columbia’s office of Abused and Neglected Children and the District of Columbia Superior Court Mental Health Division, as well as a member of Prince George's County Health Department Behavioral Health Advisory Council.
We are pleased to have Bernice at the helm and look forward to her leadership skills and commitment to public health. Her education and experience both personally and professionally have garnered a perspective that will allow her to positively impact multiple facets of the healthcare industry. Join us as we raise the bar on the delivery of care and expectations for those that suffer from mental illnesses. The executive team of BHNC is committed to parity in healthcare. Join us as we 'close the gaps in healthcare.'
